Refractive index sensing performance of a bimetallic core-shell nanotube

Abstract The sensing performance of a bimetallic core-shell nanotube is studied theoretically based on the theory TE-polarized light scattering by multilayer infinite cylinder. consists metallic core and shell with analyte inserted between shell. It found that absorption efficiency spectra exhibit three resonance peaks correspond to dipole, quadrupole sextupole mode. As refractive index increased from n 2 = 1.33 1.45, these are linearly redshifted. By calculating figure merit (FOM), it high FOM > 100 could be achieved. dipole mode exhibits higher as compared other modes. Finally, very sensitive variations geometrical parameter background medium nanotube.
